Welcome!

I finally aligned with the idea of writing a newsletter/blog. So, bear with me. Those of you who have been following my work on social media know that I rarely talk about my postings. But now feels like the right time to share more about this journey of mine.

I won't bore you with the details of how I got here. I feel it's enough that I am here!

I got started primarily out of rebellion.

Every gallery I went to locally said pretty much that same thing, “Pick a style”! Either you are a portrait, wedding, fashion, commercial or a fine art photographer. “Pick a style”!

Truth is, I love photographing a beautiful landscape as much as a beautiful woman (okay, that may not be entirely accurate) or the leaves of a plant growing through the crack in a weathered & aged building. So I began exploring compositing. I could photograph a gorgeous sunrise over the mountains then photograph an absolutely stunning woman and place her within the sunrise background. Cause, let’s be honest, most women in their 20’s are not going to want to get up at 4 a.m. and be glamourous.

On to the fun stuff…

If you’d like to know more details on my mentors, or photoshop techniques, or whatever, drop me a response & I’ll try to include it in future blogs. Let me know what you'd like to see or know. Your feedback will inspire this blog.

For now I want to present my first composite series titled, “Sprited”. I have always been fascinated with fairies and mythical women. So, when Mary said she’d like to be a fairy….well

These images were created in 2017. I wanted to create the imagined day-in-the-life of a sprite. Yes, fairies & sprites are similar!

A lot of changes to my technique, equipment and photoshop since then. I always have mixed feelings about my older pieces. A part of me wants to re-edit them because I see so much that could be improved but I also accept that was then and I appreciate where I'm at now even more.
